The collection of personal information online is designed to protect access to your personal accounts and to assist the bank in providing you with the products and services you want and need.  All personal information collected and stored by the bank is used for specific business purposes, to comply with state and federal banking regulations, and to help the bank better understand your financial needs in order to design or improve our products and service.

Employee Access and Use of Customer Information

Each employee is personally responsible for maintaining confidentiality of customer data.  Each bank employee is required to sign that they have read, understood, and agreed to the provisions in The Capital Bank Employee Handbook, which states that The Capital Bank’s policy is to conduct business in accordance with the highest ethical standards in order to meet and maintain the complete confidence and trust of its customers and the public in general.  All of the bank’s transactions are completely confidential.

Third-Party Disclosure Restrictions

The Capital Bank will not reveal specific information about customers accounts or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties unless (a) the information provided is to help complete a customer initiated transaction; (b) the customer requests it; (c) the disclosure is required by/or allowed by law (i.e. investigation of fraud activity, subpoena, ect); (d) or the customer has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to decline.

Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

From time to time, The Capital Bank contracts with outside vendors and other business partners to perform specific services for the bank.  When doing so, The Capital Bank selects business partners and vendors to adhere to similar Privacy Standards as of the bank.  We expect that our business partners and vendors will honor and safeguard any information regarding a The Capital Bank customer.
