Rita Lowman Assumes Role as Lead Bank Director at Encore Bank

Encore Bank is pleased to announce the election of Rita Lowman as its Bank Board Lead Director. The decision was made by Encore’s Board of Directors, recognizing Lowman's outstanding contributions and extensive experience in the banking industry.

Rita Lowman, former president of Pilot Bank, is a distinguished banking veteran with 45 years of experience. Her career highlights include managing 23 acquisitions, including the NationsBank-Barnett merger in 1997.

“Rita joined our board in January of 2023, and since then, her depth of industry knowledge and remarkable leadership skills have made a significant impact on Encore Bank,” said Chris Roberts, Encore’s Chairman and CEO. “As our lead director, her leadership will be instrumental to us as we continue to grow and build a different kind of bank for our clients, partners and employees.”

In 2017, Rita Lowman made history by being elected as the chair of the Florida Bankers Association, becoming the third woman to serve in this prestigious role in its 130-year history. Her influence extends beyond the state level, as she has served on the American Bankers Board of Directors, holding the position of Vice Chair of its Government Relations Council and Community Council Board.

In addition to her leadership roles, Lowman has been actively involved in community initiatives, including serving as the Chair of the 2020-2022 ReliaQuest Bowl and contributing to various other boards.

Lowman's dedication and impact in the banking sector have not gone unnoticed. She has received numerous distinguished awards, including the Tampa Chamber of Commerce 2019 Outstanding Leader and the Working Women of Tampa Leadership Award. In 2021, she was recognized as Tampa Bay’s Woman of Influence. In 2022, she was honored as Gracepoint’s Guy King Mental Health Champion, and in 2023, she was named a Living Legend by Florida Trend.
